Nuestra Cooperativa

Albor está formada por un grupo de mujeres: Tía Tere, Carmen, Pato, Karen, Marce, Mafi y Raquel. Juntas, combinamos nuestras habilidades para crear productos únicos y de alta calidad, siempre con el objetivo de empoderar a las mujeres rurales de nuestra región.

Our Cooperative 

Albor is made up of a group of women: Aunt Tere, Carmen, Pato, Karen, Marce, Mafi, and Raquel. Together, we combine our skills to create unique, high-quality products, always with the goal of empowering rural women in our region.

Organización y Distribución

La lana que utilizamos proviene distintos grupos de hilanderas o comunidades rurales en Chubut, como la Escuela Municipal de Artesanías (EMA), Hilando Caminos también de Trelew, y el grupo de hilanderas de Yalalaubat, Zomo Fuufe, Kimun de Chacay Oeste o Rescatando Cultura de Gualjaina.

Marce, Mafi y Raquel, además de tejer, somos las encargadas de las cuestiones administrativas y de ventas. Cada tejedora tiene un código único con el cual identificamos nuestros tejidos (por ejemplo, Carmen es CE y Karen es KB).

Para garantizar la calidad y el origen de cada prenda, llevamos un cuaderno de registro detallado. Anotamos la lana que cada tejedora retira para trabajar y, una vez finalizadas las prendas, registramos el ingreso con un tag que indica el nombre y procedencia de la hilandera, el código de tejedora y el número de la prenda. Así, cuando se vende un producto, sabemos exactamente quién lo tejió y quién lo hiló.

Organization and Distribution

The wool we use comes from different groups of spinners or rural communities in Chubut, such as the Municipal School of Crafts (EMA), Hilando Caminos also from Trelew, and the group of spinners from Yalalaubat, Zomo Fuufe, Kimun from Chacay Oeste, or Rescatando Cultura from Gualjaina.
Marce, Mafi, and Raquel, besides knitting, are in charge of administrative and sales matters. Each knitter has a unique code with which we identify our fabrics (for example, Carmen is CE and Karen is KB).


To guarantee the quality and origin of each garment, we keep a detailed logbook. We note the wool that each knitter takes to work with and, once the garments are finished, we record their entry with a tag indicating the name and origin of the spinner, the knitter’s code, and the garment number. Thus, when a product is sold, we know exactly who knitted it and who spun it.

Nuestro Proceso

Compra de lana: Mantenemos un diálogo constante con las hilanderas y un banco de datos con tipo de lana y características del hilado. Cada hilandera tiene una manera única de hilar que depende de la tensión, del metodo de hilado y tambien las condiciones de la lana.

Distribución y tejido: Clasificamos la lana para luego distribuila entre nuestras tejedoras, asignando productos específicos según las necesidades de producción y stock. Registramos cada movimiento en nuestras planillas de stock.

Preparación para la venta: Cada tejido se etiqueta cuidadosamente, asegurando que nuestros clientes conozcan las mujeres detrás de la prenda.

Relación con puntos de venta: Visitamos regularmente los puntos de venta locales y mantenemos una comunicación fluida con los puntos de venta fuera de la ciudad. Buscamos constantemente nuevos puntos de venta y colaboraciones institucionales.

Contabilidad y administración: Gestionamos nuestros precios, costos, facturación y pagos, asegurando una operación transparente y justa. Sobre todo, respetamos el valor del trabajo de todas nosotras.

Difusión y redes: Trabajamos en la difusión de nuestra marca a través de nuestro blog, Instagram y otros canales, creando contenido relevante y atractivo para nuestra comunidad.

Our Process

Wool purchase: We maintain constant dialogue with the spinners and keep a database with the type of wool and characteristics of the spinning. Each spinner has a unique way of spinning that depends on the tension, the spinning method, and also the conditions of the wool.

Distribution and knitting: We classify the wool and then distribute it among our knitters, assigning specific products according to production and stock needs. We record every movement in our stock sheets.

Preparation for sale: Each fabric is carefully labeled, ensuring that our customers know the women behind the garment.

Relationship with retail locations: We regularly visit local retail locations and maintain fluid communication with those outside the city. We are constantly looking for new points of sale and institutional collaborations.

Accounting and administration: We manage our prices, costs, invoicing, and payments, ensuring a transparent and fair operation. Above all, we respect the value of all our work.

Promotion and networks: We work on promoting our brand through our blog, Instagram, and other channels, creating relevant and attractive content for our community.

Capacitar y Difundir

Estamos en constante proceso de aprendizaje. Todas nosotras provenimos de diferentes profesiones y oficios. Trabajar en equipo con espíritu cooperativista, administrar un emprendimiento y hablar con clientes eran cosas que sabíamos poco antes de empezar. Sin embargo, todo lo que hemos aprendido nos muestra cuánto hemos recorrido y nos da la fuerza para seguir adelante.

Cuando una mujer se une a nuestro grupo de trabajo, le enseñamos a tejer y a llevar cuenta de su trabajo y de sus ganancias. Le transmitimos nuestros conocimientos sobre la lana y la vida rural en nuestra provincia, ayudándola a diferenciar los tipos de lana y entender sus propiedades.

Una manera de devolver el valor al trabajo de la mujer rural es compartir nuestras experiencias y aprendizajes en escuelas y foros. Intentamos dar un insight de lo que llamamos "El camino de la lana".

Training and Dissemination

We are in a constant learning process. All of us come from different professions and trades. Working as a team with a cooperative spirit, managing a business, and talking to clients were things we knew little about before we started. However, everything we have learned shows us how far we have come and gives us the strength to keep going.

When a woman joins our group, we teach her how to knit and keep track of her work and earnings. We share our knowledge about wool and rural life in our province, helping her differentiate the types of wool and understand their properties.

One way to restore the value of rural women's work is to share our experiences and learnings in schools and forums. We try to give an insight into what we call "The Wool Path."

Reuniones Semanales

Todos los miércoles nos reunimos para presentar nuestro trabajo, discutir nuevas ideas y planificar futuras acciones. Estas reuniones son el corazón de nuestra cooperativa, donde cada voz es escuchada y cada decisión se toma en conjunto.

Weekly Meetings 

Every Wednesday, we meet to present our work, discuss new ideas, and plan future actions. These meetings are the heart of our cooperative, where every voice is heard, and every decision is made together.
